Responsible Social Gaming Policy

Playing should be fun. We're here to help keep it that way.

Effective Date: June 5, 2026

Version: 1.0

1. Our Commitment

Betzy is committed to providing a safe, responsible, and enjoyable social gaming experience. We believe entertainment should be fun and free from harm. We take our responsibility to our players seriously and have designed this Policy and associated tools to help you stay in control of your play.

Betzy's Platform is a free-to-play social sweepstakes platform. Gold Coins (GC) have no monetary value. Sweeps Coins (SC) are promotional credits that may be redeemed for prizes, but they are not gambling and are not a substitute for real money. No purchase is ever necessary to play or win.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to all Betzy users, regardless of whether they have made any Gold Coin purchases. It sets out the tools and resources we make available, our approach to identifying and supporting players who may be experiencing difficulty, and our standards for responsible marketing.

3. Recognizing Problematic Play

Although Betzy operates a free-to-play social platform and not a real-money gambling site, we recognize that certain play patterns may be harmful. Warning signs that play may have become problematic include:

  • Spending more time or money on the Platform than you intended or can afford.
  • Feeling restless, irritable, or anxious when not playing.
  • Playing to escape problems, stress, anxiety, or depression rather than for entertainment.
  • Chasing losses by purchasing more Gold Coins after a losing session.
  • Neglecting work, school, family, or personal responsibilities because of play.
  • Borrowing money or selling possessions to fund Gold Coin purchases.
  • Lying to family or friends about the amount of time or money spent on the Platform.

If any of these signs resonate with you, we encourage you to use the tools described in Section 5 and reach out for support (see Section 10).

4. Self-Assessment

Betzy provides a confidential self-assessment tool based on validated National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) screening questions, available at betzy.fun/self-assessment. The tool is anonymous, takes approximately five minutes, and provides personalized feedback and resource recommendations.

We encourage all players to complete the self-assessment periodically, especially if they feel their play habits may have changed.

5. Player-Controlled Responsible Play Tools

All responsible-play tools are accessible at betzy.fun/responsible-play and within the app under Account Settings โ†’ Responsible Play. Changes take effect immediately unless noted otherwise.

5.1 Spending Limits

You may set voluntary limits on Gold Coin purchases:

  • Daily Spending Limit
  • Weekly Spending Limit
  • Monthly Spending Limit
Important: Decreases to spending limits take effect immediately. Increases take effect after a mandatory 48-hour cooling-off period and require you to re-confirm the new limit. This delay is designed to prevent impulsive decisions during a session.

5.2 Session Time Reminders

Set automatic session-length reminders at your chosen interval:

  • 30-minute reminder
  • 60-minute reminder
  • 90-minute reminder

When the reminder triggers, you will receive a notification suggesting you take a break. You may dismiss the reminder and continue playing, or log out to take a break.

5.3 Cooling-Off Periods

If you feel you need a temporary break, you may activate a cooling-off period during which your account will be suspended:

  • 24 hours
  • 7 days
  • 14 days
  • 30 days

Cooling-Off Is Immediate & Irreversible

Once a cooling-off period is activated, it cannot be shortened or cancelled. You will be automatically logged out. All scheduled promotions and bonuses accruing during the cooling-off period remain subject to standard terms.

5.4 Voluntary Self-Exclusion

If you feel you need a longer break, you may voluntarily self-exclude your account for an extended period:

  • 6 months
  • 1 year
  • 5 years
  • Permanent (irreversible)

Self-Exclusion โ€” Account Closure

During any self-exclusion period, your account will be closed, you will be removed from all marketing communications, and any unredeemed SC balance may be forfeited in accordance with our Terms of Service. A permanent self-exclusion cannot be reversed under any circumstances. Any new accounts created during a self-exclusion period will be immediately closed upon detection.

5.5 Reinstatement After Self-Exclusion

After the expiry of a non-permanent self-exclusion period, you may request reinstatement by:

  • Submitting a written reinstatement request to responsibleplay@betzy.fun from your registered email address.
  • Waiting a mandatory 24-hour cooling-off period after submitting the request.
  • Re-confirming your acceptance of Betzy's Terms of Service and Responsible Gaming Policy.

Betzy reserves the right to decline reinstatement if it believes it would not be in the player's best interest.

6. Underage Play Prevention

The Platform is strictly for users aged 18 or older (or 21 or older where required by applicable law). Betzy uses identity-verification and age-verification technology to screen all users before allowing any purchase or redemption activity. Any account found to belong to a minor will be immediately closed and any associated purchases refunded.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to use parental-control software to restrict access to social gaming platforms. Resources for parents are available at betzy.fun/parents.

7. Marketing Standards

Betzy's marketing and promotional activities comply with FTC guidelines and are designed to be honest, transparent, and never exploitative. Our marketing standards include:

  • We never target minors in our marketing materials.
  • We never send marketing communications to users who have opted out or who are under a cooling-off or self-exclusion period.
  • We never make misleading claims about the likelihood of winning prizes or the monetary value of sweepstakes entries.
  • We clearly disclose the free-entry (AMOE) method in all relevant promotional materials.
  • Testimonials and endorsements comply with FTC Endorsement Guides (16 C.F.R. Part 255); any material connection is disclosed.
  • We do not present social gaming as a way to make money or supplement income.

8. Concerns by Family Members & Affected Persons

If you are concerned about a family member's or friend's use of the Betzy Platform, please contact us at responsibleplay@betzy.fun. While we cannot discuss individual accounts with third parties due to our privacy obligations, we can provide:

  • General information about our responsible-play tools.
  • Guidance on external support resources for families affected by problem gambling.
  • Information on how to encourage a loved one to self-exclude or seek help.

9. Staff Training

All Betzy employees and contractors who interact directly with customers receive mandatory responsible-gaming training at onboarding and at least annually thereafter. Training covers recognition of problematic play patterns, how to direct customers to responsible-play tools and resources, and escalation procedures.
